Well, this has certainly been an interesting year and it is about to get even more interesting. That is my new word, INTERESTING. It is also my go-to response, “Oh that is INTERESTING”, or “OHHHHH that IS INTERESTING”. It is my way of staying out of the craziness that seems to have swept this country. I have been talking about October since April or May (it is all becoming a blur). Finally, it is here. That fabulous month we have all been warned about. Now there is no need to panic as we will make it through. However, there are some things you MUST do to THRIVE through the entire month (remember we are no longer using the “survive” word).
I thought I would put together a quick list of the top 5 things you must-do if you want to sail through this month. Ready? Here we go!
1.Read “The Four Agreements” by Don Miquel Ruiz
If you haven’t already, you must read this book! I cannot tell you how important it is to follow the Four Agreements that he has outlined in this book!
-
-
- Be impeccable with your word
- Don’t take anything personally
- Don’t make assumptions
- Always do your best

2.Remember that EVERYONE has the right to their opinion
Yeaph, even the people that are wrong (lol)! WOW! Can you even begin to imagine how different this year would be if everyone just respected each other and their right to have their own opinion? I know it is really hard for some people to keep quiet when they see an opportunity to share their knowledge. If you follow this one rule, I promise it will really help you. Do NOT answer a question that has not yet been asked. Got it? Great!
3.Stop trying to save the world
We had a long discussion about this the other day in a class I was teaching. This is an epidemic in the Healing Community. Everyone thinks it is “their” job to save the world. Do you want to know what your job or your mission is? It is to focus on fixing yourself. It is to make YOU the best YOU that YOU can be! That is how you help and inspire others. Too often I see people who haven’t even begun to do their own healing work trying to rescue others. It is like two drowning people trying to save each other. It doesn’t work. The only person you can change is YOU.
4.Focus on the positive
There are truly lots and lots of very positive things going on! Babies are being born every day, couples are still getting married, new business are opening (yes even in these crazy times), and on and on. Yes, I will absolutely agree with you that there are some days I am having to dig really deep to find the positive but it is out there! If we spend as much time looking for the positive as we do complaining about the negative ….WOW …can you imagine?
5.MIND YOUR BUSINESS
Yeaph, I said it. Do you know how much easier your life is when you mind your own business? Ask yourself, is my life so perfect that I can be sitting in judgment of someone else? If your answer is yes, then you need to STILL mind your business and go write a book so you can share your secret with the rest of us.
Remember we are in this together! We have a LOT more in common than we even realize! I am going to keep reminding everyone of this today, tomorrow, the next day, and the next, and the next. I will also tell you that I have had some incredible conversations with people who hold TOTALLY opposite views than I do. Every time I have one of those conversations, I think how sad it would have been if I had missed that wonderful opportunity because I did not respect people’s right to have their own opinion.
And finally…WE GOT THIS! Stay in your happy bubble and make the CHOICE to stay in the positive!
Thank you for all the inspirational and wise thoughts to start my day. You gave me something to think about.
Lisa Ann, You can only imagine how helpful this blog is, probably for always, yet especially at this time! I cannot thank you enough. This was exactly the right message for me, at the right time.
Wishing you continued strength, and thank you for this valuable guidance.
Thank you for the reminders Lisa. It comes down to this for me, I affirm that I am totally, radiantly vibrantly healthy and strong in body, mind, emotions, spirit, finances, relationships (in other words, all areas of my life) and I regularly take action to continue in this way. There is no need for me to buy into nor argue about others fears or agendas if it does not resonate with my soul.
