During the month of February, we tend to focus a lot on relationships due to that pesky little holiday called Valentine’s Day. However, this year I thought it was important to really think about all our relationships. Especially the ones with people that we may not see eye to eye with.
We are living in some really crazy times. Soon it will be 2 YEARS since we started that “2 weeks to slow the spread thing”. Time keeps ticking by as we continue to become more and more divided. It is really time that we all take a huge step back, take a deep breath and ask ourselves, “what am I doing to be part of the solution”?
Honestly, I am so disappointed in our leaders (on both sides of the aisle). I am so disappointed that people (actors, actresses, sports figures, etc) who could be such a positive influence and inspiration to others instead choose to feed the hatred that divides us. At some point, WE need to say no more. At some point, we need to start the shift back to find one another, support one another, and love one another. I think we can all agree that we do not need any more hate or division. We are all someone’s mother, father, daughter, son, sister, brother, etc. We need to start seeing all the things we have in common.
What the world needs now is LOVE.
I have said this a million and one times…you can NOT fight hate with hate. We need to start loving one another no matter what different opinions we may have. We do not have to think alike but we do need to respect one another.
What the world needs now is more compassion.
As I said above, everyone is someone’s mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter, wife, husband, etc. We have got to stop seeing each other as enemies. We have got to start seeing the good in each other. We have to start asking ourselves in every situation, “what if this was my family member”?
What the world needs now is each and every one of us working to empower each other.
This victim mentality has got to stop. You can not live the life you want if you are always blaming everyone else for your problems. It is time we start empowering each other. Share your stories! Be that light in someone’s life. Let them know that you believe in them. Do not let people you love stay in that victim mentality. Remind them that they can overcome any situation. We need to start believing in one another. We need to start supporting one another.
Each and every day you have a choice to be part of the solution or part of the problem. Choose to be part of the solution!
