I am at work covering the front of the shop while some very lucky client is having a two-hour massage with Kyle! I am happily working on my newsletter in between clients. I have so many great ideas going through my head (well I think they are great, time will tell). I grab a piece of paper and proudly start setting my goals for the year ahead. Revise my books, write a new book, FINALLY get my three meditation CDs available through download and on disk, create another CD, redo the website, get those online classes and workshops online, do a podcast (I miss my radio days), maybe bring back my “Create Your Reality TV Show”, share some good news. Oh yeah, I think that is a fantabulous idea! I can share some good news stories. I think back to when I did radio. Every week I would research funny stories for the show! I am off to search the internet for good news.
Hum, this site looks interesting so I click. That is when I see it. The title reads, “Nervous dog takes his emotional support rat to the groomer”. What? That is so adorable, I think to myself. Then I think, “wait, what is going on in this world that our pets now need their own support animals”. Is it cute? Is it frightening? Is it even safe for me to share my thoughts and feelings about all this? Then I remember who I am, how I was raised, and how hard I have fought to find my place in this insane world. I decided to share my thoughts and feelings. That is still allowed, right?
Spiritquest has always and always will be a space that is open to everyone. I honestly don’t care what your religious, political, etc beliefs are. I am here for one reason and one reason only, to help you navigate through this thing we call life. The great thing is we don’t have to agree on everything, nor do we have to have all the exact same philosophies. The only thing we need to do is respect each other. Having said that I am growing increasingly concerned about the direction our planet is going. I talk to so many of you on all sides of issues, from all walks of life, and from all different backgrounds so I do feel I have a very different view of what is unfolding. My biggest issue is how we are no longer teaching people to cope, how we are no longer assisting people in the journey to take back their own power. This truly saddens my soul as this is the ONLY path to happiness. Anger, resentment, hatred, sadness, and seeing yourself as a constant victim are detrimental to YOU! YOU do not deserve to be stuck in any horrific moment, any unfair moment, or any moment where someone else caused you hurt and pain. The key, the secret to living a happy and fulfilling life is to be able to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move forward!
Now before you grab that keyboard to tell me how horrible I am and how I don’t understand, I suggest you first read all of my over 100 blogs that span over a decade. There was a time I truly considered myself the poster child for “life is unfair” so I do know what I speak of. I also know that in all of those horrible moments I always had two groups of people around me. Group one, which I must confess was my favorite, would join me in my poor me pity party life is unfair and everything is everyone else’s fault. Group two, which I very often despised, constantly challenged me to ask myself what I needed to move forward. Group one was obviously easier to be a part of as it took no effort. I just woke up feeling sorry for myself. I would go through the day angry at everyone who hurt me. I would go to bed crying over all the unfair things that kept happening to me. Group two was quite the challenge. It was hard work. It still is. Group two taught me that no matter what life throws at me (and man can life throw some serious crap at ya) I do have everything I need inside of me to not only overcome it but to thrive! I truly learned what it meant to “Create Your Reality”.
We need to really start taking a look at what we are doing. We are in a mental health crisis and instead of focusing on fixing it, we are spending all our time battling it out and looking for whom to blame. If you truly want your life to improve you have to be willing to do the work. Stop spending all your time in the past and start looking WITH HOPE towards the future. Surround yourself with people who will not allow you to make excuses, with those who encourage you, and remind you of your inner strength in your weakest moments! You CAN do this. We CAN do this. Let’s stop grabbing our safety nets and instead let’s tap deep inside of ourselves. Let’s say, “I am going to work through my hurt, my fear, and all my blocks”! Let’s say, “I AM going to CREATE THE LIFE I DESERVE TO HAVE”.
Update! Thank you to Anita for pointing out that I am creating the life I deserve to have would be even more powerful. Let’s take that even further…..I HAVE created the life I deserve to have! WOW!
Would it be even more empowering to say, “I AM CREATING THE LIFE I DESERVE TO HAVE” (?)
Even better ….I have created the life I deserve to have! WOW! That’s powerful!
You are spot on Lisa Ann…
People have different opinions and ideas. listen to what others say, you don’t have to agree just respect that person.
It is easier to blame life for our troubles than our own wrong decisions making. Life throws stumbling blocks at us but something good is waiting to happen. Just one small change can create a new positive beginning……. meeting new positive people, new directions, waking to a new day.
God is love and he gives us hope of a better life that we all deserve. God bless you and all the best at your new place…..take care.
