WOW!  This month I am proudly celebrating my 22nd year as Owner & Founder of Spiritquest!  The Covid shutdowns and all the challenges that have followed have definitely made this year’s Anniversary even more significant! I seriously can not believe I have been reading for over 27 years!  I do not know where the time went!  The funny thing is even though it is 27 years later I still get all the same questions from people who are curious about my life as a psychic.  So I thought it would be fun to address some of the common questions I get.

Why do you go by “Psychic” Lisa Ann
I will be the first to admit my life would be a hell of a lot easier if I would just drop the word “Psychic”!  If I would just use one of the many other titles available to me through all the other certifications I have such as Holistic Life Coach, Certified Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master, Ordained Minister…anything but Psychic.  The truth is I did it intentionally many years ago. I truly believe with everything in my being that I am here to assist people in stepping into their true authentic selves.  How can I possibly do that if I am not true to who I am?  Through the years I have written about different times when I was discriminated against because of what I do for a living.  I am sad to say it just happened again!  I was applying for a loan for something and was told, “they would have to look into it because of the work I do”.  Somethings will never change!  Some people will never change!  However, I will tell you one thing…I will never change who I am to make someone else feel better! I am beyond proud of who I am, I am proud of the (literally) thousands of people I have helped over the years and I am proud to be known as Psychic Lisa Ann.  Most importantly, you should be proud of who you are as well! 

Do you read minds? 
This has to be the number one question I get.  The answer is NO.   I do not read minds.  Funny story…years ago I went away with a group of girls and someone in the group asked why one of the girls didn’t go.  The host responded with, “she heard Lisa Ann was coming”.  I was VERY taken-aback as I didn’t know the girl so I couldn’t understand why she wouldn’t want to come because I was going to be there.  When I inquired further (okay it was more like…what is wrong with her that she doesn’t want to come, I don’t even know this chick, said in my NY tone), I was informed that she said she would be too uncomfortable around me as I would be reading her mind the entire weekend.  Seriously?

Now let me be very clear, I do not read minds. Even if I did read minds, which I don’t, I can assure you after a long day of readings, healings and the other nine thousand things I do the last thing on my mind is what you are thinking.  I also do not read people without their permission.  I just find that completely unethical, but that is just me. 

Do you get overwhelmed by picking up everyone’s energy?
No, I do not.  When I am not sitting in my room doing a reading I am not “on”.  I do not walk around all day picking stuff up.  I can turn it on and off like a light switch.  Now it wasn’t always that easy.  In the beginning, I would have to sit and meditate for a bit in order to connect with my intuition.  However, after doing this full-time for so many years it literally is like a light switch.  I turn it on when I want and off when I want. It all has to do with learning how to properly work with energy.

Do you get drained reading?
No.  Readings do not drain me, no offense but people drain me (LOL).  In the beginning, I did not understand about energy and I would get drained.  I would definitely say being a Healer changed all of that.  In fact, I always tell people that if they are feeling drained it isn’t the reading or healing that is the problem…it is not understanding how to work with the energy that’s the problem.  This is one of the biggest problems I see today with Old Souls, Lightworkers, and Empaths.  Someone has told them that because they are an Old Soul, Lightworker, or Empath that is why they are drained, depressed, and exhausted all the time. They make it seem like that it is their destiny to suffer and take on everyone’s stuff and that there is nothing they can do about it.  That is simply not true and it really annoys me beyond belief.  Why?  One, because the person telling you that clearly knows nothing about energy.  Two, they are not empowering you to take control of your life.  If you truly believe that just because you are a wonderful being of light with an incredible soul that connects with others on a deep soul level you are doomed to suffer…you need to come to see me immediately.  As I said, it is all about energy and working with energy!  Trust me you are not meant to be suffering.  That is absolute nonsense.

Who comes to you for readings?
Everyone!  People from all walks of life! I also have a ton of people from different fields who refer their clients to me.  I have nuns, priests, therapists, nurses, and doctors who refer their clients to me.  I have worked with police on cases and private detectives on cold case files.  I have been on an incredible journey!  While I am the first to admit it hasn’t been the easiest journey, I wouldn’t want it any other way.  Over the years I have predicted the births of many babies. In fact, I have been reading for so long that I now read for some of those babies I predicted as they are now grown adults  (man am I getting old)!  I deal with all sorts of life’s questions from jobs, to health, to relationships, and more. While I am most known for my work as a psychic medium (connecting people with their loved ones who have passed) a lot of people are not aware of all the business consulting I do!  I have assisted in predicting, naming, saving, restructuring, and expanding businesses! I even have what I like to call my “millionaires club”!  It is a group of people who when I started reading for them they were just the average joe’s.  Now they are millionaires!  Wow-what a ride it has been!  I have been so excited to have been along on their journey to major success. I know this may sound geeky but I am so grateful to all those whom I have met along the way as they have made my journey so incredible!

Do you keep bad things from people?  
Ah…this is another question I get asked a LOT!  Here is my philosophy on this.  When I started “picking up on things” I honestly had no idea what was happening to me.  When I started reading for others I was so new to all of it I had no idea what I was doing.  I had enough problems dealing with what was happening to me so I made a deal with my guides and angels.  I told them that I did not know what I was supposed to share and what I shouldn’t so whatever they told me I would share. I have stayed true to that to this day.  I do not feel it is my job to “filter” information or to decide what you are “ready or not ready” to hear.  Honestly, I love when other psychics tell clients, “Oh I knew that was going to happen I just didn’t think you were ready to hear it”.  REALLY?  No, they did know it was going to happen as we are not God.  There are some things we are NOT allowed to know.  I think some psychics use that “I didn’t think you were ready to hear it” as an excuse for not knowing or for being wrong.  

 What do you do when people don’t believe you?
Ha-ha… I love this!  Honestly, way back in the beginning I would cry when people left!  I would get so upset that I was giving inaccurate information!  However, as time went by more and more people would call or email me and tell me how they had come for a reading and they felt everything I was telling them was wrong.  Some even told others how horribly inaccurate I was (I know this because they would tell me this). Then they would go on to tell me how they were apologizing for talking bad about me (which I would have never known if they hadn’t told me…lol).  They would finish up with ….you are not going to believe it but EVERYTHING YOU SAID HAPPENED!  To this day I still get calls, emails, and letters saying similar things. 

 I honestly do not take it personally anymore.  It took me quite a few years to understand that many times the information I am giving is not even on the radar of the person I am reading for so they may not understand or be able to connect it in that moment.  Now when I am reading and someone tells me what I am saying makes no sense, I am wrong, or that will never happen I just politely tell them to just file it in the back of their mind.  I know it will unfold and it will make sense to them at some point.

 What do you do when people don’t like what you tell them?
Here is the thing and I have said this many many times.  I think what most people need to understand about me is this is not a job to me.  I truly feel this is my life’s work.  I am not doing this to be popular.  I am doing this to help people.  Unfortunately, sometimes helping people means telling them something they might not want to hear (ex: no your boss is not giving you that raise, no your ex is not coming back, no he is not leaving his wife, etc).  I have said many times (I many have even said it to some of you reading this right now)…I am not here to win a popularity contest.  I am here to help you.  I am willing to “take the hit” or have you upset with me for telling you the truth (that will help you) rather than telling you what you want to hear.  And trust me when I tell you that I am psychic enough to know exactly what you want me to tell you.  BUT I love you enough to tell you the truth!  At the end of the day, it is ONLY the truth that will help you to step into who you truly are and help you to create the life you deserve to have.

 Can you pick lotto numbers?
There have been many times when the skeptics have said to me, “well if you are so psychic how come you didn’t know that bad thing was going to happen to you, or why can’t you pick lotto numbers”.  I always feel a little sad when I get asked those questions as I feel it shows how far we still have to go for people to truly understand why we are really here in this realm. I know this is mind-blowing information but we did not come down here simply to get rich.  The truth is we came down here to have experiences, both good and bad (but that is for an entirely different blog).  We are also not allowed to know everything!  Why?  Because a lot of times of growth comes from the more challenging things we go through.  If we knew about them ahead of time then we would make changes to avoid them and we wouldn’t experience the growth. Oh and getting back to those lotto numbers.  I have never picked lotto numbers but I did tell a client about a horse wearing a number one time. I had no idea what it meant but he did.  He played the horse in an upcoming race and won quite a bit of money!  And while I don’t predict lotto numbers I did have a client who I predicted would win lotto!  Fun times!

 The biggest secret of all
The one secret most psychics don’t want you to know.  Ready?  The secret is you never really need to go to a psychic!  ((((((WHAT))))))))….but Lisa Ann you make a living as a psychic?  Yes, but the truth is (and again I have said this to many of you), you do not come to me to tell you what to do.  You come to me for clarity and validation!  You always have all the answers you need inside of you.  However, we are human and it is sometimes hard to see the light in the middle of a storm.  Sometimes we are just too close to a situation and we just can’t see clearly.  That is why you come to me…for clarity and validation.  Remember, you are already a truly wonderful being of light!  Oh, and did I mention we ARE ALL PSYCHIC!
