About Halotherapy Session
We recommend wearing light color comfortable clothing as salt particles (which can easily be brushed off) may land on your clothing. Clean white socks are required (no bare feet or shoes are allowed in our Salt Rooms). We do have booties available as well.
The Salt Sanctuary is dimly lit but some of the salt walls do have lights behind them. If you are sensitive to light we suggest you bring an eye pillow or you may purchase one in our shop. We can provide you with a disposable eye mask upon request.
The temperature in the Salt Sanctuary is cool. We do provide blankets or you may bring a sweater. Please be aware that our blankets ARE washed after each session.
Please be advised that you may experience the following: dry or itchy throat, nasal drip, and increased coughing in the beginning. This is a natural part of the cleansing process of the respiratory system, during which the pollution, accumulated over a long time, and now loosened up by the salt, is expelled from even the deepest regions of the lungs. Such side effects should cease with the removal of pollution and pathogens. Skin irritation and dermal sensitivity may occur. In such a case, decrease the frequency of the sessions.
Salt Room Etiquette
Our Salt Room Sanctuary is not just a room but a sacred space. We have worked very hard to create an environment that is warm, comforting and extremely relaxing. We purposefully created this space to allow you to get away from all the stress, burdens and responsibilities of everyday life. In order to maintain the energy of this space, we politely request you do not talk during your session and instead allow yourself a full 45 mins of silent bliss! Your body, mind, and soul will thank you!
Please arrive 15 mins before your scheduled time, as you will need to fill out a client form and sign a waiver. Please review contraindications before booking your session).
Please be aware that we do not allow smokers in our Salt Sanctuary.
When to avoid salt therapy
Dry salt therapy, or sitting in a salt room, has been deemed an effective wellness practice that is safe and may aid in preventative or restorative health care. The salt room does not offer a cure and is not a form of medical treatment. People with contagious diseases, cancer, open wounds, severe hypertension, fever, active tuberculosis, mental disorders, or intoxication should adhere caution as it is not recommended. In addition, women who are pregnant should always consult with their doctor before entering the salt room. It is advised that anyone with known health ailments or serious health concerns seek proper medical advice and care before partaking in halotherapy.
Please be aware that several inches of salt crystals are layered onto the floor, posing a risk to those less mobile. The salt floor is in place to maximize the room benefits and if you have any concerns, please call before booking your appointment.
