If Spirit Sent You a Birthday Card...
It's July! My birthday month!
Now for those of you who know me, you already know I LOVE my birthday so much that I celebrate it all month long! For those of you who are just getting to know me...BUCKLE UP!
For those of you keeping score, this year I turn 59! How exciting! It's the final chapter of my fantabulous fifties, and I plan to enjoy every single minute of it.
Recently, I was talking with someone who told me they were feeling depressed because they were about to celebrate another birthday. My first thought was.... WHAT?!
A birthday isn't something to dread; it's something to celebrate! Every birthday is a reminder that we've loved, learned, laughed, cried, grown, and been given another year to experience this incredible journey called life. Personally, I think the older we get, the longer we should celebrate!
That conversation got me thinking...if we can buy birthday cards from our family and friends, what if Spirit could send us one too? What would it say?
I imagine it might look something like this...
Dear Fantabulous Soul,
Happy Birthday!
No matter how many candles are on your cake, remember this...your soul isn't counting years. It's celebrating growth, wisdom, love, and every lesson that has shaped who you are today.
This year, I hope you stop apologizing for taking up space.
I hope you stop talking yourself out of your dreams before you've even given them a chance.
I hope you finally realize that you are worthy—not because of what you've accomplished, but simply because you exist.
I hope you laugh more. Dance more. Rest without guilt.
Say "no" without explanation. Say "yes" to the things that make your heart come alive.
I hope you release the worries you've been carrying that were never yours to hold.
Forgive yourself for the mistakes that helped you grow.
Celebrate every victory, even the small ones, because they are leading you somewhere extraordinary.
Spend more time with the people who leave your soul feeling lighter.
Spend less time trying to convince others to see your worth. The right people already do.
Trust yourself. Your intuition has been whispering the answers all along.
And when life doesn't go according to your plan, remember...sometimes the greatest blessings arrive wrapped in unexpected packages.
Never forget that you are deeply loved. You have never walked alone. Even in the moments you felt lost, I was there. Every challenge has strengthened you. Every tear has watered the seeds of your future. Every joyful moment has reminded you why hope is always worth holding onto.
So, make a wish this year. Not because birthdays are magical...but because you are.
Here's to another year of learning, growing, healing, laughing, and becoming even more of the incredible soul you were created to be.
